Raudaskylä College
Welcome to our diverse and inclusive college, renowned for welcoming students from various backgrounds and offering a broad spectrum of training programs beyond high school. Situated in central Finland, our institution embraces both youth and adult learners, creating a dynamic and ever-evolving community.
We focus on students over 18 years old. Students can be 17 when they apply but all students need to be 18 when they start their studies.
In our high school, we prioritize small group sizes, fostering personalized learning experiences. With boarding facilities available, we provide a welcoming environment for students from various locations. Our kitchen is known for serving excellent food, ensuring that students have nutritious meals during their time with us.
Located about 140 km south of Oulu and 510 km north of Helsinki, our college is easily accessible by train, being along the main railway line between Helsinki and Oulu. We offer transportation to and from the Ylivieska railway station, located 14 km away, making travel convenient for our students.
Nestled in the peaceful countryside, our college provides a tranquil setting for academic pursuits. While services are available in Ylivieska, a town of around 15,000 people, we have our own small gym, outdoor sporting facilities, dormitories, and a dining hall on-site. Transport to Ylivieska is provided weekly for additional amenities.
Accommodation and food during schooldays are free for qualifying students. We offer single and double rooms, mostly with shared facilities. While the village lacks a grocery store, our college has a small shop, and weekly shopping trips to Ylivieska ensure students have access to necessities.
Our high school curriculum boasts a variety of courses with a special emphasis on science. Additionally, we actively engage in sustainability matters, holding a certificate from the OKKA foundation. Adult international students participate in primary and secondary education, language courses in Finnish, vocational training, and short courses in various fields.
For high school students, we provide tuition, laptops, full-board, study materials, access to the Itslearning e-learning environment, healthcare, tutoring, common rooms, staff availability in the evenings, transport, and a range of activities. While our Erasmus program is limited for students visiting abroad, when schools come to us, all students are welcome to join these exchanges.
Join our vibrant community where diversity is celebrated, and a comprehensive range of educational opportunities awaits every student
